These stills are from a video taken during and after a talk by Billy Childish and Charles Thomson
on 'Stuckism and Remodernism', 20 June 2000, at the Salon des Arts, Kensington,
promoted by The Institute of Ideas. Stella Vine was present throughout the event.

The principle points of Stuckim, including the strong anti-conceptual art stance, were clearly stated. Passages from the manifestos were read out aloud, and there was substantial discussion and clarification with debate from the audience.

Stella Vine introduces herself to Charles Thomson at the private view of the Vote Stuckist show
(30 May 2001) at The Fridge Gallery, Brixton, where they first met, nearly a year after the talk on
Stuckism at the Salon des Arts (where they had not met).

Charles and Stella had met briefly earlier in the day, when she stopped by to pick up a painting
she was buying from Billy Childish, but Charles failed to recognise her in the evening.

During this conversation Stella accepted the invitation to form a group called The Westminster
Stuckists and subsequently to hang some of her paintings in the Vote Stuckist show.
This was the first time her work was exhibited. She also volunteered to invigilate
and made some display material on her own initiative.
