demonstrations on Wikipedia
The Stuckists
are a figurative painting group, opposed to conceptual art, and, as
well as staging exhibitions of their work, have carried out demonstrations
against the Turner Prize since 2000, as well as at other venues. These
have gained international media coverage and become a well known phenomenon.
"However
critics of the Prize, such as the absurdly reactionary Stuckists,
fail to acknowledge the Prize's central role in promoting and drawing
public attention to the best of contemporary art in Britain."
"Turner Prize", The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms by Michael
Clarke and Deborah Clarke. Oxford Reference Online. Oxford University
